How Did Fun Boats Come About?

We wanted to create an easy, affordable and fun way for the children of Anguilla to celebrate their national sport. What better way than to have them build their own Sailboat and even race it with friends?

What Sorts of Materials Did You Use to Design Fun Boats With and Why?

I used pool noodles, bamboo skewers and foam sheets. All these materials are relatively inexpensive and very light weight and water resistant. These properties make them good candidates for a sailing vessel to get moving quickly with very little wind.

It is also noteworthy that due to the very light wait and boyancy of these materials, Fun Boats would not require any additional energy input from a combustion or battery operated engine. No fuel burned = less pollution and a minimal environmental impact.
